- Suitable work area is selected for the task
- Preparatory drawings/set-outs for tasks are confirmed
- Materials are selected following work instructions
- Tools and equipment suitable for fabrication are identified and checked for safe and effective operation
- Complete fabrication
- Material is prepared and set out according to work instructions and components are marked according to workplace procedures
- Tools, machines and equipment are used in accordance with safety requirements and manufacturer specifications
- Components are prepared and checked against set-out and job requirements
- Components are fabricated using fastenings and adhesives
- Assembly process is undertaken according to workplace procedures
- Fabricated product is checked for compliance with specifications
- Item is finished in accordance with work instructions
- Finalise operation and maintain equipment
- Work area is cleaned and hand and/or power tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained and stored in accordance with workplace procedures
- Off-cuts and unused materials are collected and stored for reuse or disposed following workplace procedures
- Waste and scrap materials are dealt with following workplace procedures
